For over 38 years Steve has lived print and continues to keep ahead of the curve of the constant and ever-changing products within the industry. Finishing high school on a Friday, he was learning the print ropes the following Monday and has never looked back! Steve shares “it’s not just a job, it’s a vocation”
After 55 years of living and working in South Manchester, Steve decided it was time to start a new chapter in both personal and business life. In 2017 he moved to North Wales and working in partnership with Mike, created CLIMB.
Since 1980 Steve has produced a plethora of printed marketing products for a wide range of sectors. Specialising in the outdoor & sports industries, he works with companies such as the Climbing Centre Group, Mountain Equipment, Ron Hill, Speedo, Sprayway & the OIA (Outdoor Industries Association).
In 2003 Steve was asked to provide his services to the newly opened Manchester Climbing Centre. Fast-forward fifteen years and he continues to provide the print requirements for the Climbing Centre Group, one of the UK’s largest climbing centre operators. It was during this period Steve first collaborated with Mike and as they say… the rest is history.
Growing up in North Wales, Mike started climbing at a young age, igniting a passion which has taken him all over the world.
Since graduating from Manchester Met University in 2006, his career has always had a link to the outdoor industry. Mike’s roles have included managing outdoor retail stores, working with iconic US climbing brands such as prAna & Metolius and most relevantly, working in management roles for the Climbing Centre Group, one of the UK’s largest climbing centre operators.
Mike has managed the Climbing Centre Group’s centres in Manchester, Harrogate and Reading as well as contributing to the tender process and opening of their Huddersfield centres, before assuming the role of Group General Manager.
Other than climbing, Mike’s passions lie in creativity. His passion for design and photography, including the history and development of these disciplines, lead Mike to found NOMAD, an aptly named creative initiative which he has operated from different countries around the globe. Combining these interests with the industry he loves lead to this partnership with Steve. CLIMB was born!
